Zit de voorliefde voor bepaalde muziek soms in de genen? Of is het alleen al voldoende wanneer je een muzikaal genre met de paplepel krijgt ingegoten? Bospop, a rich history!
The Bospop rock festival, which will be held for the 29th time on 11 & 12 July 2009, has made a name for itself thanks to its easy-going atmosphere. This festival, which was started as a small-scale festival for mainly regional amateur bands in 1980 on a DIY stage has now grown into a big musical event with bands of international fame which has won itself a permanent listing on the festival calendar. The headliners which have played Bospop include Neil Young, Carlos Santana, Sting, The Doors, Deep Purple, Zucchero, Simple Minds, ZZ-TOP, INXS, Toto, UB40, Alice Cooper, Status Quo, Bryan Adams, Golden Earring, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Joe Cocker, John Fogerty, Dreamtheater and many others.
In spite of the growing number of visitors Bospop has always managed to keep its pleasant and intimate atmosphere. That's why Bospop has for years been considered one of the most enjoyable festivals in the Netherlands.
Bospop is known for its good facilities which are available during the festival. You can find the following in and around the Bospop grounds:
- Night café
- Breakfast and shower facilities
- Sufficient toilets (for ladies and the disabled too)
- A raised wheelchair platform
- Guarded car parks
- Guarded motorbike & bike park
- Campsites (prior reservation obligatory)
- Festival market
- Food stalls (plenty of choice)
- Drinks facilities

Umbrellas are not allowed in the festival grounds.
Chairs and stools will only be admitted if a doctor’s certificate is shown.
Route to Bospop
By car from Eindhoven:
On the A2 take the exit Weert / Stramproy, follow the signs for Weert until the main roundabout with the large work of art. Turn right at the roundabout and then turn left again after 200 m.
By car from Maastricht:
On the A2 take the exit Nederweert, at the bottom of the exit go left at the traffic lights, in the direction of Weert. Keep driving straight on, continue straight on at the roundabout with the large work of art and then turn left again after 200 metres.
Trains:
Intercity trains from Roermond and Eindhoven.
Walking to the festival grounds from the railway station will take you some 20 minutes. Of course, you can also take a taxi...

You can apply for press / photographer's cards until 1 June by completing the form on this page. If you require a photographer's card, please also send a passport photograph to: Bospop, Veldbloemstraat 50, 6002 CH Weert.
Campsite
Bospop has pleasant campsites near the festival grounds.
Both the camper and caravan site and the regular campsite are open from 10 a.m. on Friday 10 July to 12.30 on Monday afternoon, 13 July. The costs are 9 euros a person, regardless of the number of nights of your stay. The costs for a spot on the camper/caravan site are 15 euros a person.

The following items will NOT be allowed to the campsites:
Glass, large gas bottles, generator sets, barbecues, lamp oil. In addition, we expect everyone to behave properly and to clean up their own mess. Sufficient showers and breakfast facilities are available.
